The Life Boat

 

The Sch. Life Boat left port Dec. 27th, and it is supposed was lost in the gale of Jan. 1st 1862. She was a first class vessel of 92 tons; owned by Messrs. David C. Babson & Co., valued at $4000, and uninsured.
Her crew list comprised nine persons, as follows:

Curtis Hodgkins, master
Duncan M. Cunningham, leaves a widow and three children
Angus Grant, leaves three children
John Skillan, leaves a widow and one child
John Humes (or Haines)
Chas. Kempton
Solomon Conard
John Chisholm
John F. Shrider, single
