Sch. Fanny Fern, 48.39 tons, run down and sunk on the passage home from Georges on June 7, 1884. Owned by George Garland, valued at $4000 and insured for $3000. Of her crew of ten men, six were picked up by the steamer which run her down, and four were drowned, namely:

John Olsen, the master, left widow and one child
Alex. Swinson, widow and child
John Hanson, widow and three children
Benj. Steele, widow and five adult children
