  1. Giovanni Baptista NICASTRO was born in 1862 in Italy. He immigrated in 1894 to New York, NY. He lived between 1896 and 1903 in Detroit, MI. He lived between 1904 and 1907 in Lawrence, MA., after which he lived in Gloucester, MA. He died on Jun 29 1942 in Gloucester, MA. He was married to Rosalie. Giovanni Baptista NICASTRO and Rosalie had the following children:
    1. Felemina NICASTRO was born in 1902 in Detroit, MI. She died on May 8 1911 in Gloucester, MA. She was buried in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester, MA.

    He was married to Felicia VENTIMIGLIA (daughter of Phillipo VENTIMIGLIA and Stephina LOPICCOLO) about 1906. Felicia VENTIMIGLIA was born on Jun 10 1868 in Terrasini, Sicily. She immigrated in 1905 to New York, NY. She died on Nov 19 1945 in Gloucester, MA. Snake Nicastro remembers his father saying that he came from 9 generations of fishermen. Giovani and Felicia met and married in Lawrence, MA. For the first year of their marriage, they lived in Lawrence, MA, to satisfy Felicia's farming ancestry. After that, they moved to Gloucester to satisfy Giovani's fishing ancestry.Giovanni Baptista NICASTRO and Felicia VENTIMIGLIA had the following children:

    1. Rosolia NICASTRO was born in 1908. She died on Apr 23 1917 in Gloucester, MA. An article in the Cape Ann Advertiser dated April 23 1917 reads: "Rosie Nicastro, the nine-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Baptiste Nicastro, was the victim of a fatal shooting accident at her home, 19 Fort Square this morning, when a bullet from a 22 caliber revolver which she was examining, was discharged and penetrated her lung, death being almost instant.  The sad affair occurred about 8.30 o'clock, a few minutes before time for leaving for school. The revolver, a 22 automatic, lay on the shelf, with the magazine removed. Rosie, curious to examine the weapon, picked it up, and while the muzzle was pointed towards her chest, pulled the trigger. Unbeknown to her and her parents, a cartridge remained in the barrel and when the trigger snapped, it was discharged.  The girl gave a loud shriek and fell to the floor, Her mother who was in another room, hurried to the rescue, only to find her child dead, with the revolver beside her. The bullet had entered the lung and lodged in the back of the victim. The police were notified and a physician summoned. Dr. A. A. Choate responding. Medical Examiner Finegan viewed the body and pronounced death due to accidental shooting......  The father of the girl is a fisherman and recently purchased the weapon at Newport. He returned here recently with his boat, to shift over from trawling to seining. He took the weapon home and placed it on a shelf, until the boat was ready to go fishing again. " She was buried on Apr 24 1917 in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester, MA. Six little girls carrying flowers, escorted the white casket in which the body reposed, and ten others of the playmates of the deceased also carrying flowers, followed behind.
    2. Salvatore (Snake) NICASTRO was born in 1911 in MA.  He was married to Mary Ann PARISI (daughter of Capt. Nicola (Nicholas) PARISI and Grazia (Grace) ORLANDO) on Jul 10 1937 in Gloucester, MA. Mary Ann PARISI was born on Dec 12 1917 in Boston, MA. Salvatore (Snake) NICASTRO and Mary Ann PARISI had four children.
  2. Joseph NICASTRO was born in 1872 in Italy. He died on Jun 18 1935 in Gloucester, MA. He came to America about 1900 and lived in Michigan for over 10 years before coming to Gloucester in 1910. Upon coming to Gloucester, he was a fisherman, retiring in 1934.  He was married to Josephine CUSAMANO. Josephine CUSAMANO was born in 1875. She died in 1951 in Gloucester, MA.  Joseph NICASTRO and Josephine CUSAMANO had the following children:
    1. Grace NICASTRO was born on Sep 21 1898 in Terrasini, Sicily.She was married to Capt. Joseph ORLANDO (son of Carlo ORLANDO Sr. and Guissepina Maria CIARAMITARO) on Dec 16 1918 in Gloucester, MA. Capt. Joseph ORLANDO was born on Sep 12 1896 in Terrasini, Sicily. Grace NICASTRO and Capt. Joseph ORLANDO had seven children.  Grace died on Feb 19 1968 in Gloucester, MA. Joe died on Jan 2 1956 in Gloucester, MA.
    2. Vincenza (Vincie) NICASTRO was born about 1905 in MI.  She was married to Lorenzo (Lawrence) SUSANO on Nov 28 1920 in Gloucester, MA. Lorenzo (Lawrence) SUSANO was born about Aug 10 1899. Vincenza (Vincie) NICASTRO and Lorenzo (Lawrence) SUSANO had ten children.  Lawrence died Jun 1972.
    3. Phyllis Frances NICASTRO was born on Feb 6 1906 in Great Lake, MI. She was married to Antonio P. ORLANDO (son of Frank ORLANDO and Margaret AIELLO) about 1921. Antonio P. ORLANDO was born on Jun 18 1894 in Terrasini, Sicily. Phyllis Frances NICASTRO and Antonio P. ORLANDO had twelve children.  Phyllis died on Oct 10 1982 in San Diego, CA. Antonio died on Nov 5 1965 in San Diego, CA.
    4. Mary NICASTRO was born on Mar 15 1908 in Detroit, MI. She was married to Angelo CUSAMANO (son of Dominic CUSAMANO and Catherine LECAVORE) on Mar 7 1926 in Gloucester, MA. Angelo CUSAMANO was born on Jan 4 1904 in Terrasini, Sicily. He immigrated in 1922. He worked as a commercial fisherman for more than 48 years, out of Gloucester for 34 years and in San Pedro, CA for 14 years. He was a member of the St. Peter's Club. Mary NICASTRO and Angelo CUSAMANO had eleven children.  Mary died on Jan 22 1973 in San Pedro, CA. Angelo died on May 30 1982 in Gloucester, MA.
  3. Vincenzo (James) NICASTRO was born in 1874 in Terrasini, Sicily. He immigrated in 1904. He died on Oct 19 1957 in Gloucester, MA.  He came to the United States as a young boy.  He was married to Grazia A. (Grace) BOLOGNA about 1899 in Terrasini, Sicily. Grazia A. (Grace) BOLOGNA was born about 1879. She immigrated in 1917. Vincenzo (James) NICASTRO and Grazia A. (Grace) BOLOGNA had the following children:
    1. Giovanina (Jennie) (Ma) NICASTRO was born on Jun 24 1901 in Tunis, Tunisia. She immigrated in 1917. She was married to Domenic Ambrose VERGA on Dec 16 1917 in Gloucester, MA. (The wedding announcement lists "Dononico Diverga and Giovanina Nicastro"). Domenic Ambrose VERGA was born on Jul 29 1894. Giovanina (Jennie) (Ma) NICASTRO and Domenic Ambrose VERGA had nine children.  Ma died on Apr 24 1993 in Gloucester, MA. Domenic died in Nov 1968.
    2. Angela NICASTRO was born on Jan 17 1903 in Terrasini, Sicily. She immigrated in 1918. When Angela was young, her father came to the United States to try to make a living. During World War I, when her town in Sicily was occupied with soldiers, her mother, frightened by this experience, took her children, four daughters and a son, across the Atlantic Ocean to meet her husband. They left Sicily along with another ship, which was torpedoed and sunk. It was a very frightening experience for a 14-year-old and one she never forgot. She was married to Capt. Joseph CURCURU (son of Salvatore CURCURU and Felicia VENTIMIGLIA) on Jun 9 1918 in Gloucester, MA. Capt. Joseph CURCURU was born on Jun 9 1895 in Terrasini, Sicily. He immigrated in 1905 to New York, NY. He was a fisherman between 1917 and 1960 in Gloucester, MA. He came to the United States in 1905 from Terrasini and lived in Lawrence before moving to Boston where he worked in a chocolate factory. After three years he moved his family to Gloucester and with his brother, Philip, he had a boat built which they named Felicia after their mother. He was also captain of the boat Holy Name (formerly the Bethulia).  Joseph was a long time member of the St. Peter's Club. Angela NICASTRO and Capt. Joseph CURCURU had thirteen children.   Angela died on Feb 3 1995 in Gloucester, MA.   Joe died on Feb 3 1980 in Gloucester, MA.
    3. Salvatore (Sam) (Tally) NICASTRO was born on Sep 8 1908. He was married to Mary PARISI (daughter of Joseph PARISI and Marianna (Marion) NICASTRO) on Nov 14 1931 in Gloucester, MA. Mary PARISI was born in 1915. Sam died in Jan 1989 in Gloucester, MA. 
    4. Grace NICASTRO was born about 1910.  She was married to Gaspar PALLAZOLA (son of Joseph PALLAZOLA and Benedetta GRILLO). Gaspar PALLAZOLA was born on Sep 16 1905 in Grand Maris, MI. Grace NICASTRO and Gaspar PALLAZOLA had three children.   Gaspar died on Jun 10 1976 in Gloucester, MA.
    5. Filippa (Mother) NICASTRO was born on Jan 3 1900 in Terrasini, Sicily. She immigrated in 1917. She was married to Allerio LOIACANO. Filippa (Mother) NICASTRO and Allerio LOIACANO had ten children.  Mother died on May 25 1997 in Gloucester, MA.
    6. Ann Teresa NICASTRO was born in 1918.  She was married to Salvatore Joseph (Red Top) CURCURU (son of Benjamin Liborio CURCURU and Josephine Marie ORLANDO) in Gloucester, MA. Salvatore Joseph (Red Top) CURCURU was born on Sep 28 1911 in Gloucester, MA. He was an owned and operated, along with his father and brothers, Producers Fish Company between 1930 and 1981 in Gloucester, MA.  Ann Teresa NICASTRO and Salvatore Joseph (Red Top) CURCURU had four children.  Red died on Apr 6 1993 in Gloucester, MA.
    7. Mary NICASTRO was born on Jun 30 1922 in Gloucester, MA.  She was married to John B. (Red) PARISI (son of Joseph PARISI and Marianna (Marion) NICASTRO) in 1941 in Gloucester, MA. John B. (Red) PARISI was born on Apr 2 1918 in Gloucester, MA.   Mary NICASTRO and John B. (Red) PARISI had five children.  Red died on Apr 8 1993 in Gloucester, MA.
    8. Joseph NICASTRO was born on Jun 9 1925 in Gloucester, MA. Joe died on Dec 17 1925 in Gloucester, MA.
  4. Jeremiah NICASTRO was born on Aug 14 1876 in Italy. He immigrated in 1912. He died on Apr 18 1941 in Gloucester, MA. He was married to Serafina TOCCO (daughter of Philip TOCCO). Serafina TOCCO was born in 1880 in Palermo, Sicily. She died on Dec 21 1945 in Gloucester, MA. Jeremiah NICASTRO and Serafina TOCCO had the following children:
    1. Capt. Salvatore (Sam) NICASTRO was born on Dec 25 1904 in Grand Maris, MI. He was married to Vincie SAPUTO (daughter of Sebastian SAPUTO and Frances ARGUSSA). Capt. Salvatore (Sam) NICASTRO and Vincie SAPUTO had six children.  Sam died on Jan 20 1965 in Boston, MA.
    2. Capt. Philip NICASTRO was born on Mar 21 1906. He was a fisherman all of his life, having been the owner and skipper of the Minerva and the Serafina N. He skippered the Serafina N., a World War II submarine chaser, for 42 years. He was a member of the St. Peter's Club and the Atlantic Fishermen's Union.  He was married to Grace PARISI (daughter of Joseph PARISI and Marianna (Marion) NICASTRO) on Nov 22 1930 in Gloucester, MA. Grace PARISI was born on Oct 2 1913 in St. Louis, MO.  Grace lived in Detroit, MI as a young girl, and later moved to Gloucester. She was a lifetime member of the Sons of Italy Gloucester Lodge No 1925 and the Madonna Del Rosario Society. She was a former vice-president of the St. Peter's Club Women's Auxiliary. Capt. Philip NICASTRO and Grace PARISI had five children. Phil died on May 8 1976 in Gloucester, MA.  Grace died on Sep 8 1996 in Gloucester, MA.

    5. Phillipena NICASTRO was born about 1910 in MI. She was married to Clement PALLAZOLO (son of James PALLAZOLO and Geraldine) in 1928 in Gloucester, MA. Clement PALLAZOLO was born on Jan 25 1895 in Palermo, Sicily. Phillipena NICASTRO and Clement PALLAZOLO had six children.  He died on Dec 26 1980 in Gloucester, MA.
    6. Baptiste (Thida) NICASTRO was born on Feb 27 1915 in Gloucester, MA. He was married to Caroline V. "Kaki" HAYES (daughter of Alphonsus HAYES and Carrie CARLSON). Caroline V. "Kaki" HAYES was born on Nov 14 1916 in Gloucester, MA.  She worked for years at the Birdseye plant and after moving to Chelsea, for the Warner-Lambert Company until she retired in 1979. Baptiste (Thida) NICASTRO and Caroline V. "Kaki" HAYES had seven children. Kaki died on Nov 3 1988 in Gloucester, MA.
    7. Angelina F. NICASTRO was born on Aug 28 1918 in Gloucester, MA.  She was married to Salvatore ZERILLI. Salvatore ZERILLI was born about Jan 1 1915.   Angelina F. NICASTRO and Salvatore ZERILLI had five children.  Angrlina died on Feb 20 1999 in Salem, MA.  Salvatore died Oct 1970.
  5. Marianna (Marion) NICASTRO was born on Aug 22 1881 in Terrasini, Sicily. She died on Jun 20 1966 in Gloucester, MA.  She was married to Joseph PARISI (son of Salvatore PARISI and Rose BOLOGNA). Joseph PARISI was born on Jan 8 1877 in Terrasini, Sicily. He retired in 1939 in Gloucester, MA. He died on Aug 17 1946 in Gloucester, MA. He was a fisherman in Gloucester, MA. Marianna (Marion) NICASTRO and Joseph PARISI had the following children:
    1. Salvatore (Sam) PARISI.
    2. Charles PARISI.
    3. Florence (Flora) PARISI was born on Oct 24 1906 in Terrasini, Sicily. She was married to Anthony TRUPIANO. Florence (Flora) PARISI and Anthony TRUPIANO had three children. Flora died on Nov 2 1978 in Gloucester, MA. 
    4. Rose PARISI was married to Vito BARBARA. Vito BARBARA was born in Detroit, MI.
    5. John B. (Red) PARISI was born on Apr 2 1918 in Gloucester, MA.  He was married to Mary NICASTRO (daughter of Vincenzo (James) NICASTRO and Grazia A. (Grace) BOLOGNA) in 1941 in Gloucester, MA. Mary NICASTRO was born on Jun 30 1922 in Gloucester, MA. John B. (Red) PARISI and Mary NICASTRO had five children.  Red died on Apr 8 1993 in Gloucester, MA.

    9. Rosalie Frances PARISI was married to Nicholas Joseph NOVELLO (son of Bonaveturo NOVELLO and Vincenza PARISI) on Nov 25 1939 in Gloucester, MA.
