January

12th - A loose knob on the pilot house door of the local auxiliary sch. Andrew and Rosalie, spelled death for Albert "Boxie" Blagdon.


March

19th - The Frances C. Denehy searched the waters of Hampton roads but found no trace a missing crewman.


May

10th -One doryman of The Killarney lost his life when dory upset. Companion grasps capsized craft and is saved .


August

12th - Thrown overboard from his dory when the small craft was swamped in the surf off Rockaway Point, Queens, New York, late yesterday afternoon, James Souza, Jr. of The Eva M. Martin , was drowned. 


September

7th - Fisherman drowned in dive from dragger The Bettina.


October

25th -  After clinging to his overturned dory for half an hour on Georges bank Saturday morning, Lawson Martin became exhausted and slid to his death into the water, disappearing from sight of dragger The William L. Putnam.
